Memorial Day – remember and honorMay 27, 2019
Memorial Day celebration started in 1971, when the Congress of the USA approved the holiday and ordered that it be celebrated the last Monday of May, to be able to have 3 days to honor the fallen heroes.
To commemorate this solemn date, the Americans celebrate with great parades such as the one held in Washington D.C. People visit military cemeteries (Arlington, Virgina), make flags halfway in public places, meet with their families in parks, lakes, houses and community lots.
It is a tradition to decorate the tombs with flowers and USA flags, celebrate with barbeque type food, grills, drinks and fireworks.
The celebration of Memorial Day usually marks the beginning of the summer season throughout the USA.
